The ratio of wins to losses for a basketball team is 2:3. Which of the following is a possible total number of games?

A. 7 games B. 14 games C. 25 games D. 26 games

Can someone show me how to solve this problem please?

  1. Your ratio is 2:3, which means that the total number of games must be a multiple of 5
    the only number I see to fit that is 25

    e.g. we can split 25 into 2 parts
    10:15 = 2:3
    but we could not do that with 26 games and still have whole numbers

  2. I see how to solve this problem now. I had to multiple the the wins and losses by 5 multiple that is the total number of games played. You are so helpful, Thank you Reiny!
