Algebra HELP!

Factor each of the following expressions completely and then simplify, if possible:
a: ax + 2x
b: ax - 2x
c: 3x - 4x + 7x
d: 3x^2 + xy - x
e: (a + b)(c + 1) - (a + b)
f: x^2 - 9y^2
g: (x^2 - y^2) + x + y

asked by KG
  1. No ideas on any of them?
Look for groupings of like expressions, difference of two squares, etc.

    For example, (g) is

    (x^2-y^2) + x + y
    (x-y)(x+y) + (x+y)
    (x-y+1)(x+y)

  2. I still don't understand how you got that though, factoring is my major weakness. I don't get how you get the answers to them.
