A nut-cracker has arms o.4mlong and a nut is plsaced 0.05 from the hinge. Calculate the resistance of the shell if it is broken by a force of 100N applied at the end of the cracker(assume that all the forces are parallel)

  1. 100 * (.4/.05) = 800 N

    arms 0.4 meters long? That is one big nut cracker.
