If you don't understand Jacks answer lemme tell you 1 is not a sum. So there are only 11 possible outcomes and 6 are even (2,4,6,8,10,12). So 6/11 is correct.

Well there are six even numbers and 5 odd numbers which means there is a 6/11 chance the number will be even and 5/11 that it will be odd. Hope you understand better!
