***PS: I can't put the diagram so I type it.***

The diagram below shows the contents of a jar from which you select marbles at random.

Inside the jar there is 16 marbles.
Inside the jar there is 4 red marbles. 7 blue marbles. 5 green marbles.

a. What is the probability of selecting a red marble, replacing it, and then selecting a blue marble? Show your work.

b. What is the probability of selecting a red marble, setting it aside, and then selecting a blue marble? Show your work.

c. Are the answers to parts (a) and (b) the same? Why or why not?

why bother with all those decimals?

4/16 * 7/16 = 7/64
4/16 * 7/15 = 7/60
The fractions are exact; the decimals are usually only approximate.

(a) 4/16 * 7/16

(b) 4/16 * 7/15

(b) is different because there are fewer marbles to choose from on the second draw.

(a) 4/16 * 7/16

(b) 4/16 * 7/15

I need to find the answer?

your chances of getting a red is 4 of 16 and for blue is 7 of 16, but the second question changes you still have 4 of 16 chances of getting red, but setting it aside, means you only have 7 out of 15 chances. good luck

Question C is basically asking if both answers to questions a and b are different. So it really isn't that hard to figure out. :/

yeah - you have trouble multiplying fractions?

Anyone able to explain c?

That is a dead meme and just multiply 4/16 by 7/16 and question C is pretty self explanatory once you have your answer

Just multiply.

(a) 4/16 * 7/16 = 0.109375

(b) 4/16 * 7/15 = 0.11666666666
