Mr. Fairfax ordered 3 large pizzas for a class party. Group A ate 6/6 ( that should look like a fraction) of the first pizza, and Group B ate 8/6 of the second pizza. Did Group A or B eat more pizza? Then later Group C ate all remaining slices of pizza. What fraction of the pizza did Group C eat?

Group B couldn't eat 8/6 of a pizza. That is more than 1 pizza.

Question is misleading. Group A ate 1 pizza. Group B ate 1 pizza + 2 slices. Group B ate more pizza. Group C would have ate 4/6 if they ate the rest of the pizza. This we can only assume because they did not provide enough information.

Hello I’m a 3rd grader and I got this problem for homework and I wanna try to solve it because I’m bored and already done with homework group A ate 6/6 and group B ate 8/6 which Group B ate more so group C was left to eat 4/6 we weren’t provided with enough info but I think I did it right.

Group C ate 4/6 of a pizza, or 2/3. Checks out: Grp A = 6/6 (1 pizza); Grp B = 8/6 (1 1/3 pizzas); Grp C = 2/3 of a pizza. The info provided means we can solve for the portions of pizzas consumed, but not in "units" of slices. Check by adding up the fractions: 18/6 = 3.

group a ate 1 pizza

Group B ate more pizza

I think group B ate more because 8/6 is more than 6/6

i know that you want the answer but you can google it up.

or ask someone do what you think is the best disison
for you.
is to do want to do ask anything
in the world you can think of.

I understand the premise however the question is incorrectly worded.

Group A ate 6/6 of the first pizza. This means they ate 1 pizza.

The trouble is based on the wording that states they ate 8/6 β€œof the remaining” pizza (this is how the question is worded on the common core sheet)

Assuming we have 12 slices left remaining after group A has finished eating, you CAN’T eat 8/6 of the remaining pizza.
