A circular oil spill is spreading over the surface of a lake. The circle's radius grows by 500 meters every hour. How many square kilometers did the spill grow between 24 hours and 48 hours? Explain.

Grape

oof - how about you propose some answers to these problems? Surely you must have some ideas.

A) 452.16 km squared

B) 12,000 km squared

C) 1356.48 km squared

Choose from the following^

Didn't you understand Reiny's request? How can you expect us to help you when you ignore a tutor's suggestion?

Yes i saw but I didn't ignore it.

I don't see Reiny's request anywhere in this queston.

"how about you propose some answers to these problems? Surely you must have some ideas. "

Dont you see the multiple choice answers I gave?! And that's steves request.

OK. You've given some possible answers. Which one do you think is right, and why?

Um would it be C) 1356.48 km squared,

1) 500*48= 24000 meters or 24 km
2) 500*24= 12000 meters or 12 km
3) 3.14*24^2= 1808.64 km^2
4) 3.14*12^2= 452.16 km^2
5) 1808.64- 452.165= 1356.48 km^2

The spill grew 1356.48 kilometers squared in between 48 and 24 hours.

Looks good. Nice work.

We'd much rather see that you are making an effort to solve the problems, rather than just getting someone else to do your assignments.

Although, usually the earlier time is mentioned first, as was done in the problem.

Ok thank you very much!
