1. What is the half-life of Strontium-90? Explain your answer.

Honestly I don't know how to get this answer. I've looked it up and stuff, but I just found the answer not how to know what it is. A link or explanation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The half life of strontium-90 is 28.8 years. Strontium-90 has 52 neutrons and 38 protons.

I don't know much about this but I hope this helps, there aren't many helpers online right now cause its really late so I hope this helps

And try going on strontium 90 Wikipedia it has more info

DO NOT USE @cellis 's ANSWER! YOU WILL BE CAUGHT CHEATING.

My friend used a form of that answer, and a webmail was sent out saying that you will get a 0 on the test if you use it.

Wikipedia is the worst place to go to for info. it is edited by anyone in the world.

Okay. Thank you. :-)

are you trying to say that were dumb ha girl you must be trippin so honey what I'm saying is if were dumb your straight up stupid hun

I just want to know how to do the equation

@PeterPiper exactly, the answer is 28.8, but she wants us to explain? Okay, explanation: I USED MATCH AND SCIENCE.

@anonymous same

these pages are the best part of my day

This helps me, thanks

why is there an argument about wikipedia here

@Your Friend, wikipedia may be edited but for ANYONE to edit it, it must be approved by the majority. Therefore, it still holds facts, and it still a place to go for research.

The half-life of strontium-90 is about 28 years. Go down half way from 100% to 50% draw a line across from 50 to the line on the graph. Then draw a line down to the years. Your line going down to the years will hit at 28 years.

can you give me an answer

In my school, if we use Wikipedia, we automatically fail. My mom did an experiment to show me how unreliable it is. She changed the definition of shoe to mean a kind of sandwich eaten by southerners served with coleslaw and milk. It stayed that way for 30 days before it was fixed! Most schools don't allow use of Wikipedia because it's not reliable and it's work is often uncheckable. I came here because I don't understand this question and was hoping to get clarity by someone explaining the question and how to solve it-not read a cat fight about Wikipedia.

Ok ok calm down everyone one it's just a coolio questionn

The 1/2 life of Strontium 90 is 28.8 years. The Radioactive Decay in the Strontium is so active it can turn into Nuclear Fusion. Strontium 90 Has 50 Neutrons and 38 Protons. That is the reason why it has 28 years in half life.

Thanks half of 100 is 50 and the dot for 50 is on 28 years

don't use @cellis answers because they just searched and copied and pasted. Though I do suggest you re- word it. :)

@yo mama serious????

the half life of strontium 90 is 28.8 years because strontium 90 can live up ti 57.6 years.

okay i wanted to help explain this to people i am on the test right now so what it wants is help of the life of the strontium-90 and according to the chart the full life is 112 so just divide that by two to get half of the life of the strontium-90 it is simple really but they just made it confusing.

Strontium-90 has a half- life of 29 years and emits beta particles of relatively low energy as it decays. Yttrium-90, its decay product, has a shorter half-life (64 hours) than strontium-90, but it emits beta particles of higher energy.

i meant to say half of the life not help of the life sorry

No one can just change wikkipedia. If you want to have information changed, the mijority of people have to agree with your information. It's more reliable than people give it credit for.

thx

~FOXY~ you were talking about not being rude with peoples responses but you were rude when you responded.

If you edit a Wikipedia page with the wrong info, your IP gets leaked.

THE ANSWER TO THIS IS 28.1 Years, not trying to help but for me its open book test so ya.:)

or not I'll be back later to tell you!

is a radioactive isotope of strontium produced by nuclear fission, with a half-life of 28.8 years. It undergoes β− decay into yttrium-90, with a decay energy of 0.546 MeV. here
