julia has 8 red barrettes. 2/4 of her barrettes are red. how many barrettes does julia have?

please explain, is it one whole?

  1. (2/4)= 1/2
    8 red barrettes = 1/2 of Julias collection
    since half of Julia's barrettes are red, and she has 8 red barrettes you multiply 8*2 to get 16
    (2 or (2/1) is the inverse fraction of (1/2))

    to double check your answer..
    16*(2/4)
