I need help on these questions. Sorry if I put too many questions I'm just stuck on these.

1. In the relationship between the U.S. and Japan, the U.S. has put pressure on Japan to increase its involvement in world affairs.
a. True
b. False

I think the answer for this is a.

2. The United States did little to support Eastern European countries when they withdrew from the Soviet Union and established independent democratic governments.
a. True
b. False

I don't know this one. I can't find it anywhere in my textbook.

3. Which of the following is a principle component of communism?
a. private ownership of resources
b. a classless society
c. high taxes
d. nationalization

Based on personal knowledge, I think the answer is b. But when I looked online people were saying that the answer is d and some were saying that it's a.

4. Which of the following has been criticized for influencing voters on Election Day due to premature declarations of winning candidates?
a. exits polls
b. entrance polls
c. voting polls
d. media polls

I think it is a.

5. The revenue that state governments obtain from tax payments is used to
a. pay for media coverage of national events
b. pay for collection of federal income tax payments
c. pay for public resources such as schools and highway projects
d. assist Presidential candidates with campaign expenses

I can't find this in my textbook but I think it is c.

Let's take these one at a time. A is probably the correct answer for #1. That has not always been the case. After WW II, the US wanted Japan to mind its own business after we defeated their imperialistic goals. But we have encouraged Japan to take a constructive role. A is correct, you're right, but the question seems simplistic to me.

I think the U.S. did encourage the former Soviet satellite states to be independent. Some may say we didn't do enough. It's a legitimate question, and so recent (if not to someone who wasn't born yet) to give a definite answer. I'd say "false" in that we did encourage them, welcomed them into the "western" world, extended NATO protection to them, etc. and opened up trade and travel with those nations, which had been restricted, largely by the Soviets.

#3: Definitely NOT private ownership of property and resources! "Communism" means communal, not private! Both b and d could be correct answers. The IDEAL of communism would be a classless society (although it never worked that way because the ruling elite were always a class unto themselves - a perversion of the communist ideal). Nationalization is also correct in that the communal ownership of the means of production was accomplished through state-controlled/owned production, assuming that the government represented the people. In practice, again, it didn't work out that way, but that was the ideal. So, I can't tell you which, b or d, will be considered correct by your teacher or school program.

#4: a is correct, exit polls.

#5: c is correct. Taxes pay for public projects like schools, roads, the national defense, fire departments, parks, police, and a long list of things.

Thank you soooo much

1. To determine whether the answer is true or false, you can start by analyzing the relationship between the U.S. and Japan. Look for any instances where the U.S. has pressured Japan to increase its involvement in world affairs. This could include diplomatic actions, negotiations, or public statements. If you find evidence supporting this claim, then the answer would be true (a). If you can't find any evidence or if there is evidence to the contrary, then the answer would be false (b).

2. If you are unable to find the answer in your textbook, you could try conducting additional research using reliable sources, such as academic journals or reputable news outlets. Look for information on the United States' involvement or support for Eastern European countries during their transition from the Soviet Union to independent democratic governments. Pay attention to any financial, political, or humanitarian assistance provided by the United States. Once you have gathered enough information, you can make an informed decision on whether the statement is true (a) or false (b).

3. To determine the principle component of communism, examine the key elements associated with the ideology. Communism typically rejects private ownership of resources and instead advocates for collective or state ownership (a). A classless society, where there is no social hierarchy or divisions based on wealth or privilege, is also a fundamental principle of communism (b). High taxes or nationalization may be associated with certain implementations of communism, but they are not the core principles. Considering this, the answer is likely a or b. Analyze your textbook or consult reliable sources to confirm which option aligns more accurately with the definition of communism.

4. To understand which of the listed options has been criticized for influencing voters on Election Day, begin by familiarizing yourself with the concepts and differences between exit polls, entrance polls, voting polls, and media polls. Exit polls are conducted after voters have cast their ballots, whereas entrance polls are conducted before voters enter polling stations. Voting polls, or simply polls, refer to the physical locations where people vote. Media polls are surveys conducted by media organizations to gauge public opinion. Look for any instances where any of these polls have been criticized for prematurely declaring winning candidates and influencing voters' decisions. Once you find evidence supporting a particular option, you can select it as the answer.

5. To determine what state governments use tax revenue for, consider what public resources and services state governments are responsible for providing. Look for any mention of funding schools, highway projects, media coverage of national events, or assisting presidential candidates with campaign expenses. If you find evidence of state governments financing public resources such as schools and highway projects, then option c is likely the correct answer. However, if you cannot find any information supporting this, consider reviewing your textbook again or seeking additional reliable sources.
