Match the underlined noun clause with the corresponding use.

A:Subject
B:Direct Object
C:Indirect Object
D:Object of preposition
E:Predicate nominative

1:Nutritionist tell(whoever will listen)facts about the heart.....C

2:People are often surprised by(what they learn from these experts.)......D

Are these correct?

  • English -

    Yes, both are right.

  • English -

I sure hope that first sentence had "Nutritionists" there -- the plural form, not the singular -- to agree with the plural form of the verb, "tell."

  • English -

Thank you, both! And yes, I made a mistake there should have been Nutritionists.

  • English -

*that* I'm making mistakes left and right today...:)

  • English -

    You're welcome. :-)
