x^2-x-2=4
x^2-x-6=0
-3+2=-6
-3+2=-1
(x-3)(x+2=0
so either x-3=0 or ?

    you should write up your solution this way:

    x^2-x-2=4
    x^2-x-6=0
    (x-3)(x+2)= 0
    x-3 = 0 OR x+2=0
    x = 3 or x = -2
