find the common ratio of geometric progression ¼ ½ 1–2

If you are studying sas academy as your school subject, I've never heard of that one. Usually people study math, algebra, physics, language arts, languages, biology, etc. Or are you expecting a tutor who ONLY tutors for your school?

for ¼ ½ 1 , common ratio is clearly 2

for ¼ ½ 1–2, it no longer makes sense, there is no common ratio

To find the common ratio of a geometric progression, we divide any term in the progression by its preceding term. Let's follow this process for the given progression:

Taking the second term, 1/2, and dividing it by the first term, 1/4:
(1/2) / (1/4) = (1/2) * (4/1) = 2

Hence, the common ratio of the geometric progression 1/4, 1/2, 1, -2 is 2.
