which of the following has been demonstrated by research as a skill or ability that is induced via meditation?

A) ability to raise metabolism
B) ability to cure bacterial infections withou medication
C) ability to lower body temperature
D) ability to decrease intelligence

In my book it says meditation can raise body temperature, decrease metabolism, increase intelligence, and natural antidote to stress and anxiety. (And that the ability to cure bacterial infections without medications I' m sure isn't the answer)isn't listed anywhere in the chapter. I'm not sure what the answer could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your text says it DECREASES metabolism and the question say RAISE..text says RAISE body temperature and the answer says LOWER it...INCREASE intelligence and the question says DECREASE????? Metabolism does NOT cure bacterial infections. I think you should re-read the text, or the choices are all wrong.

I read and reread the book/text and that is what it says. I will just have to check with an advisor about this. Thank you

That's what you must do. Perhaps the question and the multiple choices were transcribed incorrectly.

Thank you for your reply.

Based on the information you've provided, it appears that the skill or ability induced by meditation is not mentioned explicitly in your book chapter. However, I can still provide you with guidance on how to determine the correct answer.

To find the answer, you can try the following steps:
1. Review the chapter that discusses meditation and its effects.
2. Look for any specific skills or abilities that are mentioned in relation to meditation.
3. Pay close attention to any scientific research mentioned in the chapter, as this may provide evidence for certain claims.
4. Consider the context and purpose of meditation. Are there any skills or abilities that are typically associated with the practice?

Based on the options given, it is unlikely that meditation induces the ability to raise metabolism (Option A) or cure bacterial infections without medication (Option B), as these claims are not commonly associated with meditation.

To determine whether meditation can induce the ability to lower body temperature (Option C), increase intelligence (as an opposite of decreasing intelligence) (Option D), or serve as a natural antidote to stress and anxiety, you would need to find specific evidence within the chapter or supporting research mentioned.

Remember, it is crucial to rely on credible and reliable sources when considering the effects of meditation or any other practice.
