The difference of a number and 7 is -8

I put n-7=-8
Is that correct?

Question 2
Six less than the product of four and a number is -5
I put 6-4n= -5

    I do not know for question 1. It could be + or -. My guess is that you are right.

    question 2 is
    4 n - 6 = -5

    N= 23/4?
