A. John had a CHRONIC back pain that left him bedridden. He refused, however, to visit the doctor because of the PRETENTIOUS way the doctor behaved. Instead, he had his telescope moved to his bed room so he could continue his study of CELESTIAL bodies.

B. Because he was at the VANGUARD of each new trend in art, people began to speak as if he had some power of CLAIRVOYANCE. The truth was, however, that he did a great deal of study in order to always remain ahead if his time. One time, in an INADVERTENT remark, he let his secret slip out.
