12x + 16y=1/5 & 13x + 24y =1/4,find value of x & y.

  • math -

    5[12x+16y=1/5]
    60x+80y=1--->eqn 1
    4[13x+24y=1/4]
    52x+96y=1
    36[60x+80y=1]
    30[52x+96y=1]

    5[12x+16y=1/5]
    60x+80y=1--->eqn 1
    4[13x+24y=1/4]
    52x+96y=1--->eqn 2
    [60x+80y=1]36
    [52x+96y=1]30
    2160x+2880y=36
    -1560x+2880y=30
    600x=6
    x=1/100
    substitute the value of x in any equation
    e.g
    60(1/100)+80y=1
    80y=1-6/10
    y=1/200
