If you bought 24 cards for \$50, one card is \$1 each and he other card is \$5. Write an equation and solve.

It would help if you proofread your questions before you posted them. What about the other 22 cards? I will assume you mean "one type of card."

Let x = one type of card, y = the other type.

x + y = 24 or y = 24-x

x + 5y = 50

Substitute 24-x for y in second equation and solve for x. Insert that value into the first equation and solve for y. Check by inserting both values into the second equation.
