You have a 100mL cylinder containing 40mL of water. A cube measures 2cm on each side is lowered into the cylinder. What is the new volume reading of the cylinder?

    volume of cube =(2cm)^3=8cm3

    8cm^3*(1mL/1cm3)=8mL

    change in volume= 8mL + 40mL
