WHAT IS THE PH OF 0.50 M HC10? KA OF HC10 IS 3.5X10-8

  • CHEMISTRY -

    That can't be HC10. It must be hypochlorous acid.
    ..............HClO ==> H^+ + ClO^-
    I.............0.50......0......0
    C..............-x.......x.......x
    E............0.50-x.....x.......x

    Substitute into the Ka expression for HClO and solve for x = (H^+) and convert to pH.
