What is the difference between (-16)^1/4 and
-16^1/4? How do you solve each?

  • Algebra 2 .. -

    taking your second one first
    - 16^.25 = - 2 easy

    however I do not know how to take a square root or fourth root of a negative number with the real number system so I do not know how to do (-16)^.25
