0.2 kg of water at 30 degrees celsius is put into a freezer to make ice. Hoe much energy has to be removed from the water to freeze it?

  • Physics -

    200 grams *30 degrees * 1.0 cal/deg*g
    = 6000 calories
to get to 0 degrees liquid
200 grams *80 cal/g = 16,000 calories to go from 0 degree liquid to ice.

That makes a total of 22,000 calories
