Can anyone help me simplify this expression? I am unsure of the proper steps. Thank you for your time.

j^2-6j-27

  • Algebra; simplifying expressions -

    factor the denominator top and bottom and you get

    2(j+3)
    ----------
    (j-9)(j+3)

    now you can cancel the j+3 factors to get

    2/(j-9)
