Mary put new tiles on her kitchen floor. The floor measures 6 ft long by 5 ft wide. She used 10 tiles to cover the entire floor each tile was 3 ft long. Write an equation using the variable x to model this situation. What does x represent in the equation?

This is a bit vague. If you always have 10 tiles, then (6/x) * 5 indicates how many tiles will be needed if each is x ft long and 1 ft wide.
