Can you tell me if I explained Beowulf as a boastful glory seeker.

Beowulf wanted to be noticed as a strong brave man who can kill monsters stronger than him.

Beowulf boasted how he drove five great giants into chains. They have seen his strength and watched him rise. Beowulf also said that Grendel and him are called together hopig he would get attention from his people.

I think you don't understand how heroes in 12th century stories were described.

To call him a "boastful glory seeker" is attaching 21st century values where they did not exist. Please study this definition of an epic hero: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/epic+hero

Then revise your sentences, making sure you use correct pronoun references in addition to showing your understanding of the epic hero in literature.

I feel that Beowulf is a boastful glory seeker because he sailed into town so sure of himself and the fact that he could and would defeat Grendel and Grendel's mother. Also he felt the need to boast. Even though he admits to "losing" that race, he still finds a way to turn it around to make himself seem like the hero. I say that because why else would he be risk his own life for others? Beowulf wanted to be noticed as a strong brave man who can kill monsters stronger than him. Beowulf boasted how he drove five great giants into chains. They have seen his strength and watched him rise. Beowulf also said that Grendel and him are called together hoping he would get attention from his people. He wants people to know how great of a warrior he was. What would have happened if Beowulf had died during his fight with Grendel?
