Given x is the midpoint of yz. given xy =6x+4 and yz=40, fing the value of x

• geometry -

You probably meant
Given X is the midpoint of YZ. given XY =6x+4 and YZ=40, fing the value of x
(You can't have x represent a "point" and a numerical value in the same problem)

So clearly 6x+4 must be 1/2 of 40
6x + 4 = 20
6x = 16
x = 16/6 = 8/3
