If it takes 6 minutes to travel from point A to point B at a constant speed of 60 miles per hour, how many minutes does it take to travel the same route from point A to point B at a constant speed of 50 miles per hour?

  • Math -

    let extra time for second trip be t hrs

    (6/60)(60) = (6/60 + t)(50)
    6 = 5 + 50t
    50t = 1
    t = 1/50 hours more

    or 1.2 minutes
