If I had one clock that chimes every half hour and the other every 15minutes and they both chimed together at 1. the next time they will chime to gether will be two oclock pm

Nope.
They'd chime together at 1:30.
Can you explain how to do this problem. Thanks

The clock that chimes every half hour chimes at 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, etc.
The clock that chimes every 15 minutes chimes at 1:00, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, etc.
30 minutes is 1/2 hour
15 minutes is 1/4 hour
