a rectangle has a length of 5 yards and a width of 3 yards. what is its perimeter? explain your answer.

16 yards. 5 x 2 = 10 3 x 2 = 6
6 + 10 = 16 
To get the answer you have to add all the sides so a rectangle has two different equal sides.so you add 5+3+5+3=16.that is you answer.
