The ratio of cars to vans in a parking lot was 5 to 2. There were 28 cars and vans in the parking lot. How many cars were in the parking lot? How many vans were in the parking lot?

  • Math ratios -

    Let x = number of cars

    5/7 = x/28

    7x = 140

    x = 20
