If you move 10 km North, 10 km East, and 10 km South,

a) What is your displacement?
b) What is the total distance you traveled?

  • physics -

    X = hor = 10 km,East.
    Y = ver = 10 km-10km = 0.

    a. Using the origin as starting point,
    D = Vf - Vs = 10 - 0 = 10 km.
    Vf = Final value; Vs = Sarting value.

    b. d = 10 + 10 + 10 = 30 km.
