1) When they built a camp near the Marula trees, the elephant stood on the edge of the camp, but after twenty minutes, he dared to walk quickly into the camp.
2) This elephant represents hope for the other elephants because he is the first who trusts humans.
He represents hope ... because he was the first to trust humans.
3) It took a long time for Mary to finish the dinner (is "the" a mistake, should I use "her" or no article at all?)
