Can someone work this out for me? I'm so confused!

Solve the system by using substitution.
y + 6x = 11
3x + 2y = -5

  • Algebra -

    y = 11-6x

    3x + 2(11-6x) = -5
    3x + 22 - 12x = -5
    -9x = -27
    x = 3
    so, y = 11-18 = -7
