what is y+19=9 plz help me i don't understand this im in 7th grade >.>

y+19=9
It means that an unknown number added to 19 is equal to 9.
y + 19 = 9
First we need to subtract 19 from both sides of the equation.
y + 19  19 = 9  19
y = 10
The proof: 19  10 = 9
y+19=9

Kayla what don't you understand about my explanation?

y+19=9
That means some number added to 19 equals 9.
So we subtract 19 from 9 which gives us 10.
