Explain how to compare 0.34 and 0.27?

  • 3rd grade math -

    Think of money.

    0.34 is 34 cents
    0.27 is 27 cents

Which is more -- 34 cents or 27 cents?

You might want to take two quarters (0.25). Add 2 pennies to one to make 27 cents. Add 9 pennies to the other to make 34 cents.

Then add enough pennies to make 2
