If a spinner is divided into 8 congruent sectors what is the sample space ? there a 2 1's, 2's. 3's and 4's that make up the segments

I don't think anyone understands what the 'sample space' is, at least that is why I haven't answered.
It seems like 5th grade math is harder than calculus!!
