Forst you need to explain and underswtand what a and b are.
If a and b are the semimajor and semiminor axes, the area is
pi*a*b.
If the equation of the eclipse is
(x/a)^2 + (y/b)^2 = 1
and b are the semimajor and semiminor axes.
