The scale of map is 1:20000. Find the area on the map which represents 124km^2

  • Math -

    area on map
    = actual area / scale^2
    = 124 km^2 / 20000^2
    = 124 (1000m)^2 / (20,000)^2
    = 124 / 400 m^2
    =0.31 m^2
