A brick undergoes a free fall from rest. Its initial height is 125 m above the ground. How long does it take to hit the ground? What is its maximum velocity before it makes impact? For ease of calculations, the magnitude of the acceleration of gravity is 10 m/s2

• physics -

125 = (1/2) g t^2
Solve for t with that formula, using g = 10.

Then use V = g t, with that time t, to solve for V at impact
