I'm having trouble simplifying two problems with exponents. Please help. Thanks.

1. [(-2)^4]^3

2. 10^7 . -1/10

  • math -

    [(-2)^4]^3
    = (-2)^12
    = 4096

    10^7 . -1/10
Is that dot supposed to be a multiplication sign?
    if so, then

    (10^7)( -1/10) = -10^6 = -1 000 000
