What effect did the highland clearances and the Irish potato famine have on canada?

The highland clearances and the Irish potato famine had an overwhelming effect on Canada.

Pretend you're an Irish or Scottish farmer who must immigrate. Write a short speech to your village,
explaining why you must leave home.

All you villagers out there, you do not need to worry about my immigration. I will return home very soon after completing my tasks. I must leave home to provide everyone of you with the necessary supplies needed to live with. I could not see you all suffering this pain anymore, so that's why I decided to go out there and mend this problem. I will set things right for everyone, once I make my way home.
Farewell everyone.

    Noooooo!

How on earth can one person emigrating to Canada possibly provide everyone with necessary supplies???

Emigrants left to keep themselves and immediate families from starving.

It was rare for emigrants to return to their homelands.

Oh, I'm very sorry, I wonder what I was thinking of

All you villagers out there, I will have to leave my homeland to survive. If I do not leave then I will eventually die. I need to live for my family, to serve them with whatever they need. If I die today, then tomorrow could be worse for my family. I am making this decision positively, I will have to leave at once. Farewell.

You haven't really answered WHAT effect these immigrants had on Canada.

The immigrants had an overwhelming effect on Canada. Canada had barely enough room for the immigrants to live in. Shelter was impossible to find in the starting.

Where did you get that information?

Canada is a huge country and still has a sparse population in most areas.

  • Socials -

I meant that canada hadn't known that such a big population of immigrants weould arrive, so they hadn't organized everything out yet, there wasn't enough shelter to provide the immigrants with.

As I asked before -- where did you get that information?

  • Socials -

I just randomly thought about it, I don't think that the immigrants brought in a good effect on Canada as they entered.

Oh, my! Your thought processes deceived you. What does your book say?
