In my last post for #1, I asked my teacher and she said that it's actually k=30 .

unless there was something special intended by using curly brackets in

5{6+k}=3k
I read that as
5(6+k)=3k
30 + 5k = 3k
2k = -30
k = -15

I am also still unclear as to what was meant by
"solve using transformations"
