How does our government's system of checks and balances affect the work of interest groups?

  • Civics -

    Interest groups affect legislation in the Congress. The president can veto any legislation which then will need a 2/3 majority of Congress to override Congress's actions. If the legislation is unconstitutional, then the courts can negate the actions.
