First of all, please use lower-case letters. In computer language, upper-case or capital letters would be considered impolite, much like shouting. Besides, they are much more difficult to read.

    Here is a GOOGLE Search:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=Article+8+of+the+Platt+Amendment&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Essentially it says the Cuban government will honor provisions already stated.

    I didn't mean to shout...

can you please help explain the 8th article to me?

I'll write it out again in lower case letters so it will be easier to read:

"That by way of further assurance the government of Cuba will embody the foregoing provisions in a permanent treaty with the United States"

I googled it before I posted my question and I couldn't find information on article 8.

Thank you for using lower-case letters. Are there certain words there that you do not understand? When you googled it, perhaps you didn't understand the Roman numerals VIII? Essentially it merely says that the Cuban government will accept and follow the preceding provisions (articles I through VII = 1 through 7) in a permanent treaty with the United States.

Or, in other words, whatever the other articles included, Cuba will accept those terms.

    Sra
