swaetshirts are on sale for 26 dollars and are 15% off. what is the sales price before tax

  • sales tax -

$26 represents 85% of the selling price.

    so selling price is 26/0.85 = $30.59

    (check: .15*30.59 = 4.59
    discounted price = 30.59 - 4.59 = 26)
