Write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line passing through the point (5,1) and parallel to the line y=-4x-2.

  • Geometry again -

    since your new line is parallel to y = -4x - 2
it must be y = -4x + b, where only the b value would be different
plug in (5,1) for your x and y to get b

    replace it in y = -4x + b and you are done.
