I need to find the subject and the verb

1.In the cockpit the pilot checked the instruments. (pilot is the subject and checked is the verb?)

2.From the kitchen drifted the delicious aroma of spaghetti sauce. (drifted is the verb and aroma is the subject?)

3. In the distance we could see a bright yellow car. (we is the verb and car is the subject?)

just making sure I'm right!??

    Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. Correct on #1 and #2 but in #3 the verb is "see" and "we" is the subject. The word "car" is the object, or what we saw.
