Does anyone play the clarinet that could give me feedback on how they like it, costs, difficulty level, etc.?

Does anyone have some good info. on the clarinet (even if you don't play it)?

I enjoyed the clarinet when I played it in high school band. I was a fan of Benny Goodman, so appreciated the sound the clarinet produced. Keying the instrument is fairly easy. Learning to manipulate the reed with the lower lip is a bit of a challenge, but you'll quickly learn to do it.

Clarinets are probably among the least expensive of musical instruments. Most kids start with used student models and later go on to better clarinets. Reeds, that need to be replaced frequently, are inexpensive.
