You put some ice cubes in a glass, fill the glass with cold water, and then let the glass sit on the table. Describe how the temperature of the water changes as time passes.

*as time passes the tempt. rises so the ice cube starts melting, right?

  • calculus -

    right

  • calculus -

but I think it really depend on how much time passes

  • calculus -

at first, the temp. will go down slightly, but then gradually increase as more time passes

  • calculus -

if i graphed the function, the tempt(vertical) will go down and then increase with time(horizontal)?

  • calculus -

yes, I think at first the ice will make the water a little more cold, then after some time the water will get warmer

  • calculus -

    Temperature is an exponential function
