5. The circular surface of a table has a diameter of 4 ft. What it will cost to have the top refinished if the company charges $5 per square foot for the refinishing? Use 3.14 for piƒnand round your answer to the nearest cent.

A= 3.14 x 4ft/2^2
3.14 x 12^2
3.14 X 24
75.36ft

You'd better check you numbers on #5. The rest are OK

A= 3.14 x (4ft/2)^2
3.14 x 4 = ? ft^2
Then multiply that by $5/ft^2 for the cost

Sorry about the double posting i re did this problem am I correct now or Am I still missing some thing here.

5. The circular surface of a table has a diameter of 4 ft. What it will cost to have the top refinished if the company charges $5 per square foot for the refinishing? Use 3.14 for piƒnand round your answer to the nearest cent.

A= 3.14 x 8^2
200.96ft
$5.00 x 200.96
$1,004.80

No. Area is pI radius^2. The radius here is 2ft (one half the diameter).

so i multply
pi which is 3.14 x half the diameter which is 2 this will give me the area
please recheck

A=3.14x2
A= 6.28^2

multiply
6.28^2 x $5.00
$197.19
